Heart of A Child Ministries Presentation at Sts. Peter & Paul in St. Paul
Heart of the Child Ministries presented to Sts Peter and Paul youth, grades 5-11 on Wednesday, April 9th. The evening was kicked off with the song “Go Make a Difference.” Led by main presenter Nikki Schaefer. She then informed the kids on how a child develops in the womb, various stages, sizes, and developmental milestones. Our pregnant parishioner Kristin Townsend allowed us to view her 24-week-old baby through ultrasound. The ultrasound technician explained to the youth what they were seeing on the screen. The baby was very active!!
Following the live ultrasound, Nikki shared some statistics on adoption and her personal experience with her adopted sister reuniting with her birth father as an adult. Ann Rief shared about caring for an infant in foster care. Then, the 5-7th graders went to another room to put together Celebration of Life bags and look at fetal models while the 8-11 graders heard testimony on how mothers facing under supported or unexpected pregnancies chose life.
All students closed with reflection and adoration at church meditating on God the “Father’s Love Letter” with scripture revealing how much value each person has and how much they are loved.
Overall, it was a powerful and moving night. Praise be to God!!
