Bishop Hanefeldt provided a blessing at the initial opening of Mary’s Cradle. Linda Kube, coordinator of Mary’s Cradle, stated that Mary’s Cradle located at St. Mary’s Cathedral Square is now open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 am to 12 pm or by appointment. Mary’s Cradle is part of the outreach efforts of Walking with Moms in Need. Mary’s Cradle is a completely volunteer, donation-based program that supports moms in need with baby supplies free of charge. They accept both new and used maternity & baby clothes, baby furniture and equipment, baby food and formula as well as cash donations. Cash donations are used to buy items that are out of stock. Donations can be made on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Cathedral Parish Office, 112 S. Cedar St. in Grand Island.
