Diocese of Grand Island Clergy Assignment Changes Effective July 1, 2026
Rev. Donald A. Buhrman, pastor of St. Leo’s parish in Grand Island is granted retirement from active ministry. He retains the responsibilities of Vicar General of the Diocese of Grand Island but is released from the duties of Moderator of the Curia.
Msgr. Mark D. Huber, a priest of the Diocese of Lincoln has been released by Bishop Conley to serve in the Diocese of Grand Island for a period of three years. Msgr. Huber is assigned as pastor of St. Leo’s parish in Grand Island and will also continue to serve as Chancellor of the Diocese of Grand Island.
Fr. Wajid Masih, from Associate Pastor of St. Leo’s parish in Grand Island to Associate Pastor of the Cathedral of St. Mary’s in Grand Island.
Fr. Henry Khakavo Sunguti, OSA, an Augustinian Priest of the Vicariate of St. Rita, in Kenya, is assigned for one year as Associate Pastor of the Parishes of St. Leo’s in Gordon, Immaculate Conception in Rushville and St. Columbkille’s in Hay Springs.
Fr. Rodolfo Gonzalez Ballesteros, from the Cathedral of St. Mary’s in Grand Island to serve at the discretion of his bishop of the Diocese of Socorro y San Gil, Colombia.
Fr. Noah D. Huddleston, following upon ordination to the priesthood on May 29, 2026, to serve for two months as Associate Pastor of Holy Rosary parish in Alliance and St. Bridget parish in Hemingford before returning to Rome in September to finish his licentiate degree.
