We encourage the faithful to participate in the Novena for Mental Health, in solidarity with Catholics across the United States. The Novena will take place from Friday, October 10 (World Mental Health Day) to Saturday, October 18 (the feast of Saint Luke the Physician).
A study (or more like a weekly mini-retreat) on Dr. Bob Schucht’s book Be Healed beginning Thursday, September 25, at 7:00 p.m. in Saint Michael Catholic Church in Hastings (715 Creighton Avenue). Everyone is welcome. Each session will include a short presentation, some discussion, and time to encounter the Divine Physician, Jesus, in prayer with Scripture and Eucharistic adoration. There will be a total of six sessions (ending October 30) in anticipation of a “Healing the Whole Person” weekend April 16-18, 2026 in Lincoln.
We will process around the Cathedral Campus, stopping at stations to pause and reflect on God’s message of hope and love. The Luminous Mysteries of Life will be prayed at each station. Pope Leo XIV encourages us, “How important it is that each and every baptized person feel himself or herself called by God to be a sign of hope in the world today.”
